Top T&T junior cyclist Justin Roberts placed fifth in the keirin final on the last day of the International Cycling Union (UCI) Grand Prix at the Laoshan Olympic Velodrome in Beijing, China yesterday.
His Drive Phase Sport teammate Haseem McLean placed second in the B Final and eighth overall while Quincy Alexander came in 13th. In the Omnium, Jovian Gomez placed eighth.
In the Sprint on Friday, Alexander was the team's top performer with a 10th place finish followed by Roberts in 19th and McLean in 21st.
Speaking to the Guardian, team manager Robert Farrier said he was satisfied with the riders' performances.
"Our guys were very competitive and we gathered some useful points to go up the UCI rankings," he said.
Roberts will next travel to Mexico to take part in the Junior Pan American Championshipships beginning July 8 while the trio of McLean, Gomez and Alexander will head to Colorado for the Colorado Grand Prix beginning July 12.
