Discarded West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul hit an unbeaten 87 off 70 balls to guide Derbyshire to a seven-wicket win over Lancashire in the Friends Life T20 in Derby on Tuesday.
Coming to bat in the second ball of the innings, following opener and fellow West Indian Chesney Hughes's first ball duck, Chanderpaul anchored his team's successful chase of 151, hitting seven fours and two sixes. It was his best score in the shorter format.
The Guyanese lefthander has been the second highest run-getter of the tournament so far with 130 runs (ave: 65.0, SR: 126.21), helping his side reach the top of the North Division with three wins in three games.
