Saturday, July 20, 2013

Glenora and Orange Field may be counting on Earnil Ryan and Deonarine Deyal respectively, as the final of the T&T (TTCB) Courts T20 Championship competition bowls off today from 6 pm at the Caldrac Ground. The teams will compete for the $20,000 first prize. The winning team will also collect a challenge trophy and medals, while the runners-up will walk away with $12,000 and a trophy. Ryan (51) and Deyal (58) both scored half-centuries to lead their teams to victories in the semifinals last Saturday at National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva.

Ryan’s Glenora defeated Triumph by five runs in a super over, while Deyal’s Orange Field got past Endeavour Sports by eight wickets. The best bowler for Glenora in the semifinal was Steve Fraser, who grabbed 4/20, while Raid Adam took 2/21 for Orange Field in their semifinal. In the early match, Endeavour will battle Triumph in the third-place playoff at 2.30 pm. The winner in this match will receive $8,000 and medals. There will also be valuable incentives for the outstanding players in batting, bowling, fielding and Man of the Match in the final and third-place playoff.
