Simmons smashes unbeaten 96 in T&T win
Keagan Simmons hit an unbeaten 96 as T&T trounced Jamaica by seven wickets to secure the West Indies Cricket Board Regional Under 15 title at Manchester High in Jamaica yesterday. Chasing a fourth innings target of 165 in 60 overs, the junior Red Force cruised to their destination for the loss of three wickets in 53.3 overs. Simmons found support in Sachin Seecharan (37 not out), with whom he added an unbroken 105 for the fourth wicket.
The pair came together at 60 for three in the 22nd over after Aaron Mairam (12), Kirstan Kallicharan (7) and Saiba Bootoosingh (0) each fell cheaply. Earlier, Emilio Gopaul grabbed five for 61 to help limit the Jamaicans to 196 for eight in their second innings. Dominik Samuels topscored with 74 while Rajhni Roye made 30. Meanwhile, the Windward Islands romped to an innings and 17-run win over the Leeward Islands at Treasure Beach.
