Team Predator, Carbon Repair's Emile Abraham, showed no mercy for the younger riders when he was crowned national road champion, after a blistering finish at the T&T Cycling Federation's National Road Championship, which concluded at the Tarouba Stadium, yesterday.
The veteran, who won the national title for the 11th time in a time of 3:28.31, was over four seconds ahead of Collin Wilson and Gevan Samuel, who finished second and third, respectively. Joshua Alexander took fourth in the gruelling 124km-long course.
The result comes less than a week after Abraham won the National Road Time Trial event, and finished second in the National Criterium. He also recently won the Tour of TnT event.
Among the Open Women, T&T Pan American representative Keiana Lester of Bikesmith also doubled up on her Criterium win to capture Sunday's Road Race. Subway Slipstream pair Giselle Craigwell and Hayley Ammon finished in second and third, respectively. Cheyenne Awai, runner-up in the Criterium finished fourth. The course was 24 kms long.
