Caledonia, La Romaine meet in semifinal
The Hoop of Life Big-Four semifinal match between Laventille and Maloney, which was scheduled to jump off last evening at 7.30 pm was postponed due to an electrical problem at the Arouca Basketball Court.
Today’s match-up between La Romaine and Caledonia, however, remains as scheduled.
La Romaine, which was beaten by Caledonia in the third-place play-off in the inaugural competition last season, is perhaps the most balanced team among the final four, boasting in its line-up the likes of national point-guard Derrick Boxill, who has averaged 23 points per game, and forward Adrain Joseph, easily the best talent on the team with an average of 21 points per match.
La Romaine will be seeking revenge for last year’s disappointing performance which ended at Paradise Heights, the same venue for tonight’s leg-one match-up.
Caledonia will put on show national centre Wilt Vincent, his brother and talented forward Wesley Vincent, the Hoop of Life 2012 Most Promising Player and Kyeon Joseph.
