CCTC to host triathlon Sunday
The Caribbean Cross Training Club (CCTC) will host the first of nine triathlon events carded for the upcoming year on Sunday at the Diego Martin Community pool.
The age groups include six and Under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15 and 16-19. Relays and a prize-giving ceremony will also take place on the day.
In the 16-19 category, athletes will swim 375m, ride 10km and run 100m, while the other age groups will compete in shorter distances.
Registration is still open for the event and interested persons can call 776-8497 or 1623-9973.
The club plans to host a triathlon race in Tobago on the April 26, 2014. CCTC is encouraging all triathlon federations in the region to send athletes to this event who are trying to qualify for international events or a national team.
CCTC would like to thank the sponsors for these events, which include M&M Insurance Company, Blue Waters, Caribbean Bottlers, Label Group, Tobago House of Assembly, T&T Triathlon Federation, National Lotteries Control Board, Bikin, Mike’s Bikes, Corkies and all the volunteers and parents.
The next triathlon event is scheduled for February 16.
