Emma Rose Trestrail will be aiming to continue her fine form on the national Junior tennis circuit this year when the 37th Annual RBC Junior tennis tournament serves off today at the Trinidad Country Club.
Trestrail won many titles this year, including the girls U-16 Singles and Doubles titles at the Sagicor Junior tennis tournament in July. In June, Trestrail also took home trophies at the Lease Operators tournament.
The opening ceremony is at 8.30 am and play will start at 9 am. Girls and boys will compete in the Under-10, U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-18 age groups. This year, a novice category will be introduced for boys and girls in the U-12 and U-14 age groups. One hundred and fifty players are carded to participate, including 21 from Tobago.
Some of the other individuals expected to contest for titles are Keeshan Moonisar, Jean Luc Robinson, Clint Singh, Emma Davis, Anya King and Che Andrews. Andrews won the boys U-14 singles and the Junior boys doubles title with teammate Joshua Arnold at the Sagicor tournament.
