Point-guard Steve Williams scored a career-best 31 points as four players scored in double digits to steer Caledonia Clippers to a 111-51 win over Sangre Grande All Stars when competition in the Mackeson Super 10 Basketball League continued on Tuesday night at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo.
Williams' production included nine three-pointers out of the 13 scored by Clippers. Forward Kerry Joseph, a former national junior standout, accounted for the other four threes in his contribution of 16 points. Teammates, centre Shawn "Shorney' Lawrence had 14 points and forward Christopher Lares added 12.
For Sangre Gande which lost for the second time in as many matches and trailed 17-9, 45-29 and 79-44 after the first three quarters of play, only Marlon Sylvester reached double-figures with 12 points.
In the first match, Tralblazers smarting from their 64-48 defeat against Petro Jazz last week, bounced back to record a comfortable 93-40 win against the Youth Training Centre (YTC) in the Toyota/Powerade Super 10 Basketball League Youth Division.
For the winners, which led 22-10, 38-21 and 71-31 in the first three periods, respectively, Isaiah Wilkinson netted 20 points which included seven three-point baskets, Conrad Griffith added 14 points and Leronzo Ferris 12.
For YTC, Elijah Alleyne and Kendell Lewis scored 12 and nine points, respectively.
