North East Stars and Police FC, both of which share second spot in the standings will kick off this weekend's action in the Digicel TT Pro League's Round One Match-day Eight, seeking to close the gap on leader W Connection, today, when the two teams clash at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, from 6 pm.
The match will precede a clash between Defence Force, which sits fourth and eighth-placed San Juan Jabloteh, carded to kick-off from 8 pm, at the same venue.
Today's feature match sees two teams off Pro League victories two weeks ago. Stars, which played six matches thus far, one less than Police is on three wins and a draw with two losses.
Its last league win was a 1-0 triumph over Jabloteh, while Police FC overpowered Rangers 2-0.
Tomorrow, the two finalists of Friday's FA Cup will be in action in separate fixtures. FA runner-up and the league's third-from-bottom-placed team Central will meet rock-bottom St Ann's Rangers, at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, from 6 pm, before W Connection, penalty kick winner over Central FC (following a 2-2 stalemate) in Friday's FA Cup final will meet Caledonia AIA, at 8 pm, in the second match of a double-header.
