The curtain came down today on the successful tour of Australia by the T&T Under 16 cricket team which returned home in triumph from the Sir Don Bradman Foundation International series. T&T beat host country Australia in the final at the tournament.The Australian High Commissioner Excellency Ross Tysoe had a courtesy call from team manager Camal Basdeo and the four awards winners ifrom the series.The players, Jordam Warner who scored two centuries and was the only centurion in the tournament, Amir jangoo MVP, Bryan Boodram who was the leading wicket-taker and team Captain Kirstan Kallicharan who won the MVP award in the earlier T20 warm up series spoke of their experiences in Australia and confirmed it was a life changing adventure.
The High Commissioner has promised to keep monitoring the group to gauge its progress. He extended high praise for All Sport–the company which has now taken three groups of young cricketers on yours to Australia. Trinidad and Tobago has already been invited to defend their title in 2015.Among the benefits of the tour was an invitation extended to All Sport to create a link with the Darren Lehman Academy in Adelaide with a view to having players attend the academy from next year.All Sport has agreed to the partnership and has indicated it hopes to have its first player at the academy in October 2014.
