The national senior cricket selectors will choose the team for the upcoming Super50 tournament tomorrow. The team will begin a three-day trial match today but that will be more in line for the Regional Four Day tournament which begins at the end of February. The team for the Super50 will be released Monday and will then go into camp to prepare for the tournament which starts at the Queen's Park Oval on January 30.
Newly installed manager Manohar Ramsaran says the focus will be on discipline this season. "We are preparing as best as we can at the moment for the Super50 tournament. We have been affected by the rain but we still have time to prepare well and give it our best shot at winning this tournament."Manohar added that looking at the current performances by the West Indies team, one has to bring a certain level of discipline back into the game. "We need to go back to the days of discipline and this is when we will get consistent results. The performances of the West Indies team right now leaves a lot to be desired, but one has to understand that there are ways to success and we should start from the discipline stand point."Today's trial match begins at 10am.
