With Digicel T&T Pro League leader DirecTV W Connection expected to pick up full points against San Juan Jabloteh and second placed North East Stars having a rest day, Caledonia AIA and Pt Fortin Civic, third and sixth, respectively, on the table with 13 points each, will be keen to make up ground.
Unbeaten in their ten matches to start the season, three-time champion W Connection, fresh off a 2-0 win over cellar-placed St Ann's Rangers on Friday lead with 26 points, nine clear of Sangre Grande-based North East Stars while the quintet of Caledonia, Defence Force, Central FC, Pt Fortin Civic and Police all have 13 points in the race for second spot.
However, with Defence Force idle from sporting activities as a result of restrictions placed on their extra circular activities to help in the fight against crime, having their match against Stars postponed, the trio of Caledonia, Police and Pt Fortin Civic will all have a chance to close within a point of the Angus Eve-coached unit.
W Connection will come up against San Juan Jabloteh and the league's top scorer in Kerry Baptiste from 8 pm at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya. Two hours earlier, Rangers and Pt Fortin Civic, boosted by its first league win in seven matches on Saturday, 5-0 over Police led by a Marcus Joseph hat-trick, do battle at the same venue.
