National duo, Afeisha Noel and Simone Morgan of Fire Services spanked former team-mate Joelisa Coopers' Police 50-34 in a eagerly anticipated Premier Division encounter of the Courts All Sectors Netball League at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua, on Saturday.
Noel was almost unstoppable with 33 goals from 39 attempts while the veteran Morgan added 17 from 26 attempts for the "Fire Women" who after taking a 14-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, extended their cushion at the end of the next two quarters, 27-14 and 4123 before sealing the comfortable win.
Opponent Police was led by another national player, former Fire Service star-shooter Joelise Cooper, an off-season transfer who scored on 31 of her 39 attempts.
Shivaughn Skeete and Janice Mc Intosh, the two other scorers used by Police converted two and one of four and six attempts respectively in the loss, their second in three matches to stay third on the table.
The win meanwhile saw Fire Service improved to four points, two behind unbeaten leaders and tournament newcomers, Game Changers.
It was a great day for the Fire women as earlier on, its Championship Division line-up led by former national youth team player, Aquila Blugh also routed Police Y, 50-31.
Blugh ended with 37 goals from an astonishing 61 attempts while Ayanna Peters was more efficient with 13 goals from 24 attempts for the winners who led at the end of all three quarters, 14-7, and 41-23.
For Police Jiselle Navarro was the lone scorer in double-figures with 16 goals from 22 attempts while Tracey Regis got four, and Donna Wickham, one in the heavy defeat.
Bermudez had a much tougher task on its hands before securing a 42-34 win over Jabloteh thanks to 30 goals from 32 attempts from Kathy James.
Indra Anderson chipped in with a valuable ten goals from 17 attempts and Joyclyn Marcelle, two from three attempts for Bermudez, which led 12-7, 22-13 and 32-22 at the end of the first three periods.
Jabloteh used five different shooters in an attempt to get the win. La Toya Thomas had a team-high ten goals from 18 attempts.
