Eight teams of two players each will represent Tobago, East and South clubs, against 16 players, comprising the best of Northern and Western clubs when the T&T Golf Association (TTGA) hosts a team challenge for the Ash Ali Cup, tomorrow and Sunday, starting at Millennium Lakes Golf Club, Trincity.
The teams will comprise six men, two women, two junior girls and trwo junior boys, as well as two seniors and two super seniors. Former national player Ray Roberts will represent the Tobago, East and South team, while Neill Edmund, president of the national golf club, will captain the North and West team.
Players were selected in accordance with national rankings with each captain being permitted one captain's pick, which may be a player who could not qualify according to the rankings.
The first round will tee off at Millennium Lakes, then at St Andrew's Golf Course, Moka.
For scoring, one point will be given for a win and a half point for a tie. The front nine will be better ball and the back nine will be alternate shot.
