Disappointing day for Mohammed in Argentina

Na­tion­al ju­nior bad­minton play­er Naim Mo­hammed was elim­i­nat­ed from both the boys sin­gles un­der-19 and boys dou­bles U-19 cat­e­gories yes­ter­day, at the Ar­genti­na Ju­nior Open tour­na­ment.

In the sin­gles semi­fi­nals against Chilean Bas­t­ian Liza­ma, Mo­hammed suf­fered a close two-set loss, go­ing down 19-21, 20-22.Lat­er on, Mo­hammed had a chance to re­deem him­self with Pe­ru­vian part­ner Jose Gue­vara Llatos in the boys U-19 dou­bles semi­fi­nal.Un­for­tu­nate­ly, the pair came out on the los­ing end in three sets.Mo­hammed and Llatos jumped out to an ear­ly lead, win­ning the first set 24-22.Their Chilean op­po­nents Niko­las Fer­ru­zo­la and Leon Ivan stormed back to win the next two sets, 21-18, 21-16.
