National Under-21 netballer Kalifa Mc Collin and former national standout Janelle Barker were almost at the best as Games Changers scolded UWI 55-15 in their final Premier Division Courts All Sectors Netball League match at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua on Saturday.
Going into the match, Game Changers, beaten by title rivals, Fire Service in their previous match, 41-51 on Thursday, needed a win to stay alive in the title race.
And after expanding on their 13-4 first quarter lead, Mc Collin and Barker, who missed her team's last two matches dominated their opponents for a 23-9 half-time lead which extended to 49-13 at the end of the third.
In the end, goal-attack Mc Collin tallied 33 goals from 40 attempts and Barker, 22 from 33 for the winners while Akeela Rodriguez led UWI with nine goals from 21 attempts. With the win, Game Changers, newcomers to the tournament ended with ten points from six matches, two ahead of Fire Service which faces Police on Tuesday March 11, needing to win by 20 goals.
This is because, Game Changers has a goal-difference of plus-78 while Fire Service which defeated Police in the first round, 50-34 has a goal-difference of plus-59.
The race for the title in the Championship Division will also go down to the final round of matches after joint table-toppers, Fire Service and Police X, both won.
