WI women’s second T20 ends in no-result
INVERCARGILL—West Indies Women faced just two overs before rain forced a no-result in their second Twenty20 International against New Zealand Women in New Zealand yesterday.
Kycia Knight was not out on one and her twin sister Kyshona was not out on two, as the Windies Women reached seven for one, after the New Zealanders sent them in to bat at Queen’s Park.
Natasha McLean was the only casualty in the brief period of play, when she was run out, failing to beat Hayley Jensen’s throw to wicketkeeper Rachel Priest in the second over, following a delayed start.
Just four more deliveries were possible following McLean’s departure, as the rain started to come down and never stopped.
The Caribbean side trail 0-1 in the five-match series, following a 32-run defeat in the first T20I on Saturday at the same venue.
The West Indies women also lost the three-match One Day series 3-0. The third T20 match is scheduled for Wednesday. (CMC)
