Mystery spinner Sunil Narine has been given a precautionary rest for the second match of the West Indies versus England T20 series which will be played from 2 pm today at Kensington Oval, Barbados.
Narine slipped while fielding in the first match and went off the field after bowling two overs.
Yesterday he was scheduled to have a scan done on his leg but team management decided against it as he was moving about easily at the team's hotel Acca Beach. However, with the World T20 in mind, the selectors decided to rest him today.
Wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin said victory was crucial with the World T20 coming up and the West Indies will be going all out to make that happen today.
"We want to go to Bangladesh confident and this means that we have to win this series. The English is a very good team and it will be difficult but if the players put together the kind of performance they did on Sunday, we should close out the series."
Ramdin said that he is feeling good about his all round game and this is giving him a lot of confidence.
"I am getting runs and feeling good and when this happens all aspects of my game comes along. I will be looking to play my part to help us achieve this all important win.
He said slow bowlers should play a big part and the West Indies are ready.
"We have good, quality spinners who have done the job for us already and they should play another big role. We are a good T20 team, with explosive guys. Chris Gayle's return is a boost. Our batting has been letting us down recently but in this format, once the guys get going you know how dangerous they are. We have batting that can chase down any score."
England captain Chris Broad will sit out England's next two matches in a bid to ensure his fitness for the World T20, with the captain revealing he has been managing a knee problem with injections over the winter.
Broad said after England's defeat in the first T20 that he was suffering from patellar tendonitis, which flared up during the third ODI in Antigua.
Broad downplayed the risk to his participation in the World T20, saying he "should be okay", but with less than two weeks until England's first game in Bangladesh, against New Zealand on March 22, it is cause for concern.
Broad said he had already had "four or five" cortisone injections to his right knee, due to the workload on England's disastrous tour of Australia, and admitted that a long-term solution would have to be found.
