Goal-attack Giselle Hobson was almost 60 per cent from the field as she led Jabloteh to a 29-23 defeat of Police Y in their Courts All Sectors Netball League Championship Division knockout semifinal at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua, on Monday night.Hobson scored 17 of 30 attempts, while Samantha James was much more efficient with ten from 13 attempts for Jabloteh which held a 13-9 lead at the end of the first 20-minute half.Police Y, meanwhile, got 14 goals from 23 attempts by Jiselle Navarro, while Donessa Wickham added five from six and Giselle Norton-Richards four from 13 in the loss.
With the win, Jabloteh set up a meeting in the final with the winner of the March 24 semifinal between Fire Service and Bermudez, the latter of which was on a quarterfinal round bye.
Fire Service on the other hand scorched Police X 30-25 in the lone quarterfinal thanks to 16 goals from 31 attempts by Ayanna Peters, and 14 from 28 by Aquila Blugh.Patrice Goring had a match-high 22 goals from 28 attempts for Police X, but she lacked the much needed support with Tricia Roberts getting three from five for the losers who trailed, 12-13 at the half.
