TSTT and Prisons captured the Fast Five titles in their respective Retro and Alternative Division of the Courts All Sectors Netball League at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua, on Saturday in contrasting fashion.
In their lone match played on the day, TSTT, who cemented its hold on the Retro Division league crown on Thursday, crushed Les Enfants 206 in the tournament final which is contested over four periods of five minutes each.
The TSTT women had an easy stroll to the decider as they won by walkover from CCS, who withdrew from the league, while Les Enfants also won by default from Les Femmes. And in the lone quarterfinal played, Les Enfants spanked Harlem 259.
The outcome of the Alternative Division final was much more of a surprise as Prisons put the stranglehold on league champions, the University of T&T with a close 1816 victory.
It was only one of two matches played by Prisons on the day as, after beating TSTT 119 in the quarterfinals, they won by default from the University of Southern Caribbean in the semis.
UTT, meanwhile, crushed Central Bank 166 in the quarterfinal and then coasted past Police 124 in its last-four match-up.
Today, TSTT will have a chance to add another title when it competes in the Retro Division knockout while tomorrow the team will compete in the Alternative Division.
