Defence Force, Police in key clash
With the top four clubs, all having a day off, defending Digicel T&T Pro League champions, Defence Force will be hoping to make up some valuable ground when it faces Police in a re-scheduled match at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva from 5pm today. Currently, DirecTV W Connection is the favourite to capture the $1 million league top prize with 45 point from 21 matches and three left to play while Central FC is second with 38 points from 20 matches followed by Pt Fortin Civic with 36, North East Stars (33) and Defence Force with 32.
However, Pt Fortin Civic and Stars are out of the title race as they only have two and three matches left respectively while the “Teteron Boys” have seven matches to play, but must win all to keep hold of their crown. In the night’s other match, Caledonia AIA, coming off a 5-1 loss to Central FC comes up against second from bottom San Juan Jabloteh. In their remaining matches W Connection faces Defence Force twice, and Caledonia while Central FC plays Stars, Jabloteh and St Ann’s Rangers; Stars tackles Pt Fortin Civic, Central FC, Rangers and Police; Pt Fortin Civic comes up against Stars, Jabloteh and Caledonia while Defence Force meets both W Connection and Police twice, Jabloteh, Caledonia AIA and Rangers.
