The Chetwynd Lawn Tennis Club will host its second Seniors International Tennis Tournament from Friday to Monday at the St Augustine Tennis Club, St Augustine.Categories include Over-25 men's singles, Over-35 men's singles open, Over-35 men's singles B, Over-35 men's doubles open, Over-35 men's doubles B, Over-50 men's singles, Over-25 ladies singles open, Over-35 ladies singles B, ladies doubles and mixed doubles.
This year the organisers have included new categories for the senior ladies, following the interest sparked from last year's tournament.Reigning champions Andrew Awai, Mc Collin Fontinelle and Ricky Villarelle, as well as Sylma Phillip from Grenada and local veteran Michael Cooper would all be giving their best serve to come out victorious once again. They will come up against players from Aruba, St Croix, Grenada, sister isle Tobago and other local players.
Sponsors include the Sport Company of T&T (Sportt), Ministry of Tourism, the Sports and Culture Division of the Office of the Prime Minister and Powergen.Play will start at 8 am and finish at 9 pm daily, except on Monday when the tournament is scheduled to end at 6 pm.
