Sixteen fours and 14 sixes were struck yesterday between Darren Bravo and Justin Guillen as the Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC) duo went on a rampage, blasting the Munroe Road bowlers to all parts of the Queen's Park Oval in Port-of-Spain, to give the Parkites a crushing 118-run win in the last round of the T&T Cricket Board T20 tournament.
The left-handed pair of Bravo and Guillen shared in a 225-run opening partnership, before Guillen was run out for 101 in the last over. Bravo made 103 as the duo single-handedly took Queen's Park to 234/1. Guillen slammed seven fours and seven sixes in his 58-ball innings, while Bravo helped himself to nine fours and seven sixes in 67 deliveries.
Five of the eight Munroe bowlers conceded more than ten runs per over. Kristoff Andrews unfortunately conceded 27 runs in his only over of the match.
In reply, Munroe was skittled out for 116 in 19.2 overs. Kapil Harry and Shaquille Allick both made 33 for Munroe, but it was not enough. Bowling for the Parkites, Tion Webster grabbed 3/28, and former national spin bowler Amit Jaggernauth picked up 2/27.
Qualifying for the quarterfinals were Merry Boys, Queen's Park, Munroe Road and Moosai from group A, while Powergen, Caldrac, Clarke Road and Tableland advanced from group B.
