Former national senior team player Sean Siloch entered the record books when he smashed six sixes in an over to give NGC a huge victory over Proman as group action continued in the SIS Industrial Cricket League on Tuesday.
Siloch became the first batsman to achieve this feat in the SIS Industrial Cricket League as he blasted Devindra Ramadhar to all parts of the ground.
Ramadhar would be reminiscing on what went wrong but Siloch was just too good on the day. The Trinidad and Tobago Standford Twenty20 representative cracked a total of 13 sixes in a whirlwind knock of 94 to completely demolish Proman's bowlers. Unfortunately, he fell agonizingly short by six runs chasing down his century with four balls remaining in the innings.
Nevertheless, his impressive knock propelled NGC to a mammoth 154 for two with good contributions from Gary Dowlat (29) and Daniel Baxter, who ended not out on 20. Leon Ghouralal was Proman's best bowler with 1-22 from his allotted two overs.
Just when Proman thought things could not get worse, NGC's Daniel Prentice stamped his authority on the game, ripping through the heart of their batting lineup.
Prentice produced a devastating spell of five wickets for seven runs, twice threatening to take a hattrick, as Proman were dismissed for 21 in seven overs. Prentice's spell was well backed up by teammates Greg Latchmansingh (2-1) and Jameel Allaham (1-7), while Clarie Charles was Proman's most productive batsman, top scoring with nine runs as NGC secured a 133 run victory. NGC now move into second place behind leaders Wasa in group B and with Wasa and NGC still to meet, it promises to be an exciting encounter and a true test of the mettle of both teams.
