Rashad Blenman of Guardian Group made an emphatic return to the CariFin Games on May 7, capturing the male run at the Chancellor Challenge at Lady Chancellor Hill, Port-of-Spain.
The CariFin Games has a four-race schedule, and after missing the second stage (Green Mile), Blenman returned to impress on the hill. Blenman stopped the clock in 14 minutes, 50.7 seconds, 15 seconds ahead of First Citizens (FCB) John Donaldson (15.05.1). Jean-Marc De Boulet of Sagicor rounded off the top three in 15.35.3.
Although Blenman was trailing during the race, he was confident of victory. Blenman stated: "Even though I was way behind, I know eventually with patience and execution I would pull it off."
Deodath Harrikissoon of FCB and Lee Hay of Citibank continued their impressive form, with Harrikissoon taking the male walk event and Hay winning the female run.
Their wins put them in a good position to take the full series of events, especially if they can maintain their winning form in the last event on June 8, when the cross country event runs off at the Sevilla Golf Course, Couva.
This is the 23rd edition of the CariFin Games, and the main purpose of these games is to promote health and fitness within the financial services sector of the Caribbean.
Yesterday, the aerobics burnout took place at the Queen's Park Savannah.
