Leaders Merry Boys can seal the Shanghai Construction Group National League title this weekend with a win in round ten of the premier division, but standing in its way is the high-flying Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC).Second-placed QPCC has won four matches on the trot and will be looking for an outright win over Merry Boys at the Queen's Park Oval. Queen's Park is 22 points behind Merry Boys with two rounds remaining. A team can earn a maximum of 28 points from a win, therefore QPCC is still in with a great chance of taking the title.
Defending champions Powergen currently lie third, but its chances of repeating look glum, as it stands 38 points off the pace. Powergen has been boosted recently with the return of newly appointed West Indies Test captain Denesh Ramdin. Ramdin was on West Indies and national duty. The defending champs will welcome Clico Preysal to Syne Village, Penal. Tenth-placed Preysal, which earned promotion to the premier division this season, has improved of late. In Preysal's last four matches, the central based club has won two, drawn one and lost one.All matches bowl off at 10 am today and continue tomorrow from 9.30 am.
