Former national cricket captain and Harvard Cricket Clinic member Keno Mason gave an inspirational address to youngsters at the closing ceremony of the Digicel Harvard Cricket Coaching Clinic on Sunday.
Mason humbly shared his fulfilling experiences which began 35 years ago at the Harvard Cricket Clinic.
During his inspirational address Mason noted the success he has achieved was through hard work in the field and balancing his academic life.
He spoke highly of the impact of the Digicel Harvard Cricket Clinic and highlighted the extent to which it has moulded him into the person he is today. The Harvard Cricket Club has produced several national athletes in the discipline, including Brian Lara.
Participation in this year's Digicel Harvard Cricket Clinic increased by an astonishing 20 per cent when compared to the numbers last year.
Coaches and youngsters alike were offered a viewing of a movie at the Digicel Imax theatre later this year. Delivering keynote remarks at the closing, Digicel's Marketing and Strategic Partnership manager Wendy Alleyne, pledged to maintain the relationship with the Cricket Club. The telecommunications company has been a proud affiliate of the club for the past nine years.
Public Relations Officer of The Harvard Club Kabir Hosein, commented that 2014 marked the 50th cricket clinic.
The club is looking forward to celebrating the cricket clinic's 50th anniversary and Digicel's 10th year of partnership in the 2015 edition of the Digicel Harvard Cricket Clinic.
