Fiaz John won the MVP award at the T&T Windball Association Under-16 Windball Cricket competition, but it was Guaico Tamana Sports Club that reigned supreme winning the tournament last month, which was played at Constantine Park, Macoya.
In the final, Tamana posted a competitive 76/5 in 12 overs then reduced Bamboo for a paltry 34 all out to lift the title. John representing Koreans, was adjudged as the best player in the tournament.
The competition saw outstanding performances from bowlers Zinane Singh (Tamana) and Kallis Romain (Maraval). Both bowlers grabbed hat-tricks in the tournament, which ran from August 8�29.
LH Movers batsman Rahim Portal was the leading run scorer cracking 117 runs in seven innings, while Kendall Constantine was the top wicket taker with 14 scalps for Maraval.
The competition produced half centuries from Portal (54) and Bamboo United's Sharaz Ali (67 not out).
