Led by Jacob Hadeed and Andy Aleong, Blue Waters Crystals maintained its unbeaten run in the Tranquillity Team Tennis tournament, cruising to a 3-0 win over Maraj Gold Nuggets at the club's courts at Victoria Avenue, Port-of-Spain, on Friday.
Following victories over RBC Investors and PWC Checkers, the Crystals were looking for three wins on the trot. The Crystals swept aside the Nuggets 3-0 in the three-match series led by Hadeed and Aleong's 9-5 win over Jeff Castillo-Lee and Rajiv Maraj. Sean De La Bastide and Richard Kong recorded a slim 9-8 victory over Brian Jackson and Jameel Mohammed, while Dion Camacho and Leslie Mclean were too strong for Harish Maraj and Bianca Banfield, prevailing 9-7 in the mixed doubles match.
The Checkers were also in the winning column, outlasting the Investors 2-1 in the series. Mike Farah and Glenda De Silva got a hard fought consolation win for Investors, defeating Johnny Allum and Roger Bonnin 9-8.
