Christian Marsden of Marlins poses with his trophies after repeating as champion of the Maracas Open Water Swim Classic 5k Classic hosted by the Amateur Swimming Association of T&T (ASATT) at Maracas Bay, yesterday.
The 15-year-old Marsden completed the course in one hour, 7.52 minutes well ahead of Jivan Chee Foon (1:10.08) and Sachin Sankar (1:13.37) while 52-year-old Gerry Rodrigues was fourth in 1:13.42 and Syriah David, the first woman, fifth in 1:14.42.
Among the juniors (12 and Under), Tidal Wave Aquatics' Sabrina David covered the 750m distance the quickest in 11.12 minutes ahead of Aqeel Joseph (11.57) and Jada Chatoor (11.59) while in the seniors (13 and Over) was won by John Littlepage who completed the 2,650 metres course in 36.38 minutes ahead of Kael Yorke (37.22) and David Wiltshire (37.37 while Gabriel Bynoes (37.41) and Adam De Gannes (37.46) were foruth and fifth respectively.
