Thirteen-year-olds Silini Acosta and Asim Atherton dominated the Under-16 category to snatch titles at the Tobago House of Assembly Tobago Schools Cross Country Championships at Mt Irvine Golf Course, Tobago, on Saturday.
Acosta of the Zenith club finished one minute ahead (9 minutes 15 seconds) of her nearest competitor in the Under-16 girls category to grab gold. Acosta's clubmate Shanique McKenzie, 14, won silver in 10:15, while Jerika Henry, 15, of Cougars took bronze in 12:04.
Cougars runner Atherton was also an easy winner in the Under-16 boys, capturing gold in 7:38. His teammate Justin Richards, 14, won silver in 8:40.
In the Under-20 category, the Cougars pair of Nyasha Waterman and Joshua James won the women's and men's category respectively.
In the men's category, Kade Sobers of Falcons was the winner ahead of Lyndon Bacchus (Falcons).
