Evin Lewis is showing some form ahead of the West Indies Regional Four-day tournament, as the aggressive left-hander slammed an unbeaten 106 in a national three-day practice match which ended in a draw at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva, yesterday.
Lewis faced 103 balls, hitting 11 fours and three sixes before retiring on 106. Replying to the (Jason) Mohammed XI's score of 146/4 declared in the first innings, Lewis and Jeremy Solozano shared in a opening partnership of 179 before Lewis retired. Left-handed Solozano was patient in his approach, unfortunately being dismissed for 93 off 188 balls. The Queen's Park player cracked seven fours and two sixes. Daniel St Clair was the top bowler for the (Rayad) Emrit XI, taking 4/26 in 8.5 overs.
The Mohammed XI only got to 20/1 in the second innings at the close. T&T is preparing for the regional four-day tournament which bowls off on November 14. T&T will play Barbados in the opening round at the Queen's Park Oval.
