Captain Anderson Toussaint scored his second goal in as many matches, this time the winner as Princes Town Secondary went clear at the top of the Group A standings in the SSFL Championship Division playoff yesterday, to virtually secure its place in semifinals.Toussaint's winner, a cheeky header moments from full time, put Princes Town on six points from two matches to inch closer toward Premier Division promotion. At the end of three group matches, the top team from Group A will meet the runner-up team from Group B and vice versa.
Leading Group B are QRC and Fyzabad, both of which started with opening round wins, but played to a 1-1 stalemate, yesterday.The Premier Division Big-Four competition will kick off today with two matches at separate venues. Inaugural league champion Naparima College will meet third-placed finisher San Juan North, at the latter team's home ground from 3.45 pm.
Simultaneously, Premier runner-up St Anthony's College will host Tobago Championship league winner Speyside Secondary at St Mary's College Ground.The second round of matches will take place on Tuesday followed by the third and final round on Saturday.
