A second loss after all three Group A matches, left T&T needing a Group B miracle last night to see it gain the final qualifying spot for the 2015 Concacaf Under-17 Championship. This after head coach Shawn Cooper's T&T team finished third in Group A of the CFU U-17 Championship with a 3-0 loss to host Haiti on Thursday night.Ironically, the result came just five days after this country's senior women's team defeated Haiti 1-0 en route to the semifinal of the Concacaf Women's Championship at the expense of the loser.
After all teams completed their matches, Haiti finished on top of Group A with nine points, while St Lucia (the team that handed T&T a 2-0 defeat on the opening day, finished runner-up with four points. For their efforts, Haiti and St Lucia advanced to the Concacaf Under-17 Championship as Cuba and Jamaica did after winning their first two matches in Group B.Martinique and Guadeloupe were in action in their final Group B match last night to determine the third-place finisher from that group. The best third place finisher from the two groups will become the final team to advance to the Concacaf Championships. Both Martinique and Guadeloupe, despite failing to record a point yet, remain with a chance of finishing as the best third-placed team. Martinique would have to win by over three goals, while Guadeloupe would have win by four or more goals.
