Recently crowned Toyota Championship Division league winner, Caribs RFC, will vie for its third title for the season today in a clash against Harvard in the TTRFU Knockout competition final, at the Queen's Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain.The match will touch off from 3.30 pm, an hour following the star of the women's knockout final and the Under-17 men's knockout final.
The women's knockout final between Rainbow and Royalians, will also be played at the savannah, as will the U-17 final between Rainbow and Exiles.Tomorrow, Rainbow and Exiles will meet again, but in the Under-20 knockout final, at the QPS, from 4 pm.Today's feature clash will see Caribs' senior team seeking a perfect response to its 18-12 loss to Stag Trinidad Northern in the traditional Bruno Browne derby match last weekend.
Caribs, the Ruggerama champion, had an outstanding league campaign securing eight wins from as many matches, seven of which included bonus points. The team amassed 39 points and was trailed by Rainbow, which picked up 30 points, with one outstanding fixture. One of Caribs' wins this season included a 63-14 mauling of Harvard.Following this weekend's 15s knockout action will be the start of the sevens season.
