T&T international foward Kenwyne Jones scored his sixth league goal of the season yesterday, coming off the bench to finish the scoring in Cardiff City's 3-1 home win over Leeds United.Bruno Manga made the breakthrough with a headed goal for Cardiff in the 61st minute, before Federico Macheda doubled up six minutes later with his third goal from four matches.
Leeds then pulled one back in the 77th minute through, Alex Mowatt, before Jones, a 75th minute substitute for Macheda, sealed the win with a close-ranged goal in the 83rd minute following a mix-up from Leeds goalkeeper Marco Silvestri. Jones, T&T captain, returned to fire in after recovering from a foot injury.
Cardiff will be seeking to inch closer to the promotion playoff spots with an away win over Bolton on Tuesday. However, the Bluebirds will have to do so without Jones' services, after he opted to return to T&T following a family tragedy, which is believed to be in relation to a double-murder of siblings Deshawn Sobers and Trevaughn Sobers, at a panyard in Chaguanas, last week.
