T&T Soca Warriors will have a light training session at the Montego Bay Sports Complex today prior to their opening match of the 18th Caribbean Football Union Cup Finals against Curacao at the same venue tomorrow from 5.30 pm (6.30 pm TT time).
This will be the opening match of the tournament, and first in Pool B while defending champions Cuba meet Antigua & Barbuda in the feature encounter from 9 pm (TT time).
Coach Stephen Hart and his squad arrived in Montego Bay shortly after midday yesterday from Port-of-Spain via Panama City and had a scheduled afternoon training session after checking in at the Sunset Beach Resort Hotel, where the Cuba and French Guiana teams are also staying.
The 17-member playing squad and officials who left T&T were met in Jamaica by European-based Lester Peltier, Andre Boucaud, Justin Hoyte, and Radanfah Abu Bakr.
The remnaining two players yet to join the team, Racing Genk midfielder Khaleem Hyland and Kevan George of US Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew arrive today.
Speaking on arrival in jamaica Hart said: "We're here and the first day is always important in terms of settling in and familiarising yourself with the place. Once that's out of the way then you begin to focus on the final set of preparations for the game."
"We've been here before. Several of the players here at the moment played in the friendly in Montego Bay against Jamaica last November. But this time we're here for a tournament so the circumstances are a bit different. We're here for a longer period and for more matches. But I'm sure the players are ready for the challenge and they know what is at stake," Hart added.
T&T's opening match against Curacao kicks off at 5.30 pm (6.30 pm TT time) tomorrow at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
