Former T&T Cycling Federation (TTCF) president Rowena Williams is pleased with her effort over the past four years and believes she has put the local cycling body in a place to achieve even more in the coming years.
Williams, who served two terms as the president between 2010 and 2014, lost 39-60 to Robert Farrier at the TTCF Annual General meeting on Saturday.
Williams, the first woman to hold the top position was happy with her performance and her team over the years. "Yes (I am happy), I did not get to accomplish all that I wanted to do, but I think I brought the TTCF to a good place, I am pleased with my performance."
The former president said starting construction of the National Cycling Centre in Couva was a fantastic accomplishment. "It was a great achievement to have the National Cycling Centre almost completed, it will be good for the federation. I hope it (National Cycling Centre) will help us promote the sport regionally and internationally."
Williams added that the TTCF has made itself known over the years and the local federation now has a good relationship with UCI (International Cycling Union).
Williams, who will now focus on completing her Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, said she was satisfied with the strides of the women cyclists.
