National Super League leaders, Club Sando will be confident of securing a second straight appearance in the Toyota Classic semifinal when it faces former winner San Juan Jabloteh in one of two remaining quarterfinals at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva from 8pm tonight.
Two hours earlier, current T&T Pro League leaders Central FC will face Pt Fortin Civic in an all-Pro League battle.
Going into today's contest, both Club Sando and Central FC will be tested physically, having played their re-scheduled round-of-16 matches match on Friday night at the same venue.
On that night, Central FC led by a double from national midfielder, Ataullah Guerra blanked Super League's La Horquetta SA, 3-0 and will faced a Pt Fortin line-up that was hammered 3-0 in the league on Tuesday by W Connection; while Club Sando, which reached the tournament final last year, with wins over three Pro League clubs, before a 2-0 loss to DirecTV W Connection in the decider, edged Japs North East Stars' 1-0 on a free-kick from former national youth team player Jack Weedon and will face a well rested Jabloteh squad which has not played a competitive match in over a week.
The winner of the Jabloteh and Club Sando match will face Police in Friday's semifinal while the Central FC/Pt Fortin Civic winner will meet current Super League second-placed club and tournament giant-killers, WASA FC.
This after Police defeated Defence Force 4-3 on penalty-kicks after a 1-1 draw at Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, and WASA followed up its ousting of W Connection by eking past another Pro League powerhouse, Caledonia AIA, 2-1 at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, both on Saturday.
The tournament winners will receive $50,000 while the runner-up gets $20,000. The top "Goalscorer" and "Coach of the Tournament" will receive $1,000 each while $1,500 will be awarded to the "Most Valuable Player" overall.
