West Indies Under-19 players Akeel Seetal and Amir Jangoo are currently leading a T&T U-18 Development squad on a Barbados tour.
The 14-man squad, which is coached and managed by former West Indies wicketkeeper David Williams, is expected to be tested in several competitive matches. Jangoo and Seetal were recently selected for the West Indies U-19 team to participate in the Nagico Super50 next month.
The development team will play two 50-Over matches and one two-day contest. According to Dudnath Ramkessoon, Operations Manager of the T&T Cricket Board (T&TCB) the squad recently completed a National Gas Company (NGC) sponsored Cricket Academy at the Sir Frank Worrell Development Centre.
Ramkessoon, a former West Indies youth team captain, said the cricketers underwent intensive holistic training over the past ten weeks and left on Monday to play matches against their U-18 Barbados counterparts. The T&T team will return on Saturday.
