Defending Shanghai Construction Group Premiership One National League champions Merry Boys will hope for a better effort, when its round two match against Powergen continues today at the Diego Martin Recreational Ground.
On February 21 Merry Boys closed day one on 98/7 in the first innings, after Powergen posted 157 all out batting first.
Aneil Kanhai, who is unbeaten on 41, was the only Merry Boys batsman to offer some resistance.
West Indies leg spinner Samuel Badree was Powergen's top bowler, taking 3/18.
At Pierre Road, Charlieville, home team Alescon Comets will hope to add more runs to its massive first innings total.
Behind a century from Faaiq Mohammed (111) Comets ended day one on 327/7.
Carlo Morris and Richard Kelly also made valuable contributions to the Comets total, scoring 53 and 46 respectively.
Tableland will depend on national opening batsman Evin Lewis to lead its reply.
