With only three rounds left in the Powergen Secondary Schools 50-over Premiership Cricket League, leaders Fatima is hoping for an outright win today knowing that second placed Naparima is just two points behind.
In the last round Fatima had to settle for a 'winning draw' against defending champions Vishnu Boys at Fatima grounds. Fatima posted 222/7 batting first, before Vishnu closed on 147/7 after 47 overs when play was stopped because of bad light. Fatima will make the short trip to face North rivals St Mary's at the Serpentine Road ground today.
On the other hand, Naparima will aim to continue its top form today when it welcomes Presentation College, Chaguanas, to its school ground. Last week 'Naps' defeated St Mary's by 127 runs following top performances from Cephas Cooper and Gabriel Maharaj. Cooper struck 75 to lead Naparima to 274/9, then Maharaj took 4/32 to help dismiss the 'Saints' for 147.
