Goalshooter Patrice Goring scored 29 of 37 attempts as Police X won a third title in the Courts All Sectors Netball League Championship Diviison after beating last year's winner Fire Servive 34-32 in their dvisional knockout final on Tuesday.
Former national shooter Beverly Hernandez added five from nine attempts for Police X which led 16-11 at half.
Former national youth team pair, Aquila Blugh (21/32) and Nariba (12/25) were the scorers for "Fire" which just came up short in a bid to repeat as champions at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua on Tuesday night. In the semifinals, Goring tallied 24 goals from 28 attempts and Hernandez, seven from ten for Police X in their 31-25 defeat of Bermudez which was led by Makeda De Freitas' 19 from 24.
Meanwhile, Fire Service doused Police Y, 30-23 with Blugh scoring 23 and Grant seven, to cancel out Giselle Norton's 12 from 20 and Jeselle Navarro, 11 of 12.
Today, the Premier Division knockout tournament will take place with Police putting its title on the line while on Saturday, competition concludes with the Championship and Premier Division Fast 5 tournaments ahead inw hich Police and Police X are also the reigning champions. On Monday's, the league will closed off its season with its awards function from 3pm at the same venue.
