Caribbean Airlines has partnered with the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 tournament for a second time to bring the world together for the biggest party in sport.
The third annual CPL will be held from June 21–July 26. At the media launch yesterday at the Caribbean Airlines head office in Piarco, Michael DiLollo, Chief Executive Officer of Caribbean Airlines said, "This partnership represents the best that the Caribbean has to offer, it's a natural fit for both our brands. The fans who are following the series from London, North America and within the region will begin their experience with Caribbean Airlines the moment they step on board."
As the official carrier of the CPL, Caribbean Airlines will transport the teams to matches in Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana and Grenada.
Jamie Stewart, Commercial Director of the CPL, is excited to have Caribbean Airlines on board. Stewart said: "When you look at the challenges of holding a major international sports league across the Caribbean Islands, it becomes obvious that the best strategic partner for any such event is Caribbean Airlines. With that in mind we are delighted to have Caribbean Airlines onboard as the official airline of the CPL."
Minister of Tourism Gerald Hadeed said the CPL is an opportunity to promote T&T.
"One of the very first directives I gave after the Honourable Prime Minister entrusted me with this dynamic tourism portfolio in April last year was that the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with all partners in industry, must focus on developing activities, events and attractions that will be strong vehicles to generate new business in the sector.
"It is, in this respect, that T&T's hosting of the CPL semifinals and finals is a great business opportunity for the tourism industry. This event has presented the country with an invaluable opportunity to promote T&T."
