National goalshooter Samantha Wallace was almost unstoppable as she led the University of T&T (UTT) past Fire Services 31-15 in their Courts All Sectors Netball League Premier Division knockout final at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua on Thursday night.
Wallace, also a national senior team basketballer, ended with 23 goals from 30 attempts for the winner, who led 18-8 at the half.
Fellow national netball team-mates Kalifa McCollin added four from four, and Jellene Richardson, eight from five for UTT to add to its four other titles. They include Premier Division league, Steve Sargeant Challenge, Open Day Tournament and Courts Knockout competitions.
Fire Services, which was without national shooter Afeisha Noel was led by former national standout Simone Morgan's 12 goals from 20 attempts, and Ayana Hamlet's three from five.
Earlier in the semifinals, Wallace got 19 and McCollin seven for UTT in its 26-15 defeat of Police, while Fire Services came from behind to oust Tobago House of Assembly, 23-19 led by Morgan's 16 goals.
Today, the Championship and Premier Division Fast 5 tournaments will take place with Police X and Police, the reigning champions.
On Monday, the league will close off its season with its awards function from 3 pm at the same venue.
