Club Sando striker Kevon "Showtime" Woodley banged in two more goals as T&T held off Guatamela 4-3 to seal fifth spot at the 2015 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship which ended at the Estadio de Futbol Playa, Costa Del Sol, El Salvador, on Saturday night.
Already assured of bettering their seventh-place finish at the 2013 edition, the Ryan Augustine-coached T&T men took a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute with a right-footed blast from some distance that whisked past goalkeeper Jersson Leon.
Three minutes later, Chad Appoo made it three goals in two matches when he turned in a pass from Kerwin Stafford after the Guatemalan goalkeeper had parried a long range T&T effort into Stafford's path.
Guatemala then got on the scoreboard when second choice T&T goalkeeper Victor Thomas failed to hold onto a long-range free kick and Miguel Gonzalez reacted quickly to poke the ball home.
However, the Central Americans' joy was shortlived as Woodley netted his second of the match, a close-range shot, following up on a T&T free kick that ricocheted off the frame of the post.
Once again, some sloppy goalkeeping by Thomas handed Guatemala a way back into the match as he allowed a tame effort from Angel Gomez to slip in with 5:27 left in the second period.
But T&T soon had an answer as Stafford scored the team's last goal less than three minutes later.
With four minutes left in the final period, Gonzalez scored another for Guatemala to trail 3-4, but T&T held on for the deserved win and ended the tournament on a high.
Earlier on in the seventh-place playoff, Bahamas scored the two goals in extra-time to break open a 7-7 deadlock with a 9-7 triumph over Jamaica.
El Salvador ended in third spot with a 5-2 win over 2013 champions USA, and Mexico captured its fourth straight Concacaf title via convincing 4-0 defeat of Costa Rica.
Prior to the final, both Mexico and Costa Rica, the only teams to beat T&T, were assured of places in the FIFA Beach World Cup to be played in Espinho, Portugal, later this year.
