T&T's Liam Bryden secured a clear lead by nine shots in the boys' 16-17 age group division, at the end of yesterday's day two action in the Republic Bank Caribbean Junior Open at St Andrews Golf Course, Moka.
Bryden, who entered the day tied with Jamaica's Romain Evans, shot one over par at 73, with Evans shooting 82, and now one ahead of Tobago's Sol Joanni who shot 74.
Ysabelle Lawrence continued to dominate in the girls' 16-17 age division with 78. Second placed Sabrina Mitchell shot 87, with Ana Ferreira and Olivia Clarke trailing with 94 and 146 in the third and fourth spots.
There was a tight finish in the boys' 14-15 division with Ryan Peters leading by two shots with 78, followed by Iz Hustler from Barbados shooting 80 for second place. Hector Rivera of Puerto Rico finished the day third with 80.
In the girls' 14-15 group, Serena Mackenzie shot 77 to continue her lead, while runner up Karina Matabadal came in with 81 and Sara Ramphal third with 84.
Ten-year-old Zico Correia who plays in the 11-13 boys' category fought his way to third place today with 81 six shots behind second placed Guadeloupe's Pierre Garcia who scored 79. Andres Aranguren from Puerto Rico, with 70, extended his formidable lead with a 16 shots difference.
Zoe Correia continues to command the girls 11-13 division by 28 shots ahead of Yeji Lee and Azariah Joseph.
In the boys' ten-and-under Trinidad Cup category, Christopher Richards Jnr (97) leads with Justin Kublalsingh (102) in second place. Irfaan Emamali (111) is in third, followed by Marlin Ho-Tack (109).
