Defence Force stayed top of the T&T Hockey Board Men's Championship Division table despite being held to a 0-0 draw by Courts Malvern when action returned to the National Hockey Centre, Tacarigua, on Saturday.
The league began over a month ago, but because the turf was not repaired and cleaned on time, matches were contested at the UWI Ground, St Augustine in Trinidad, and at Black Rock Recreation Ground, in Tobago.
However, following its 5-0 thrashing of host Paradise last week in the sister-isle, Defence Force was unable to repeat the same performance against a youthful Malvern line-up.
With the point earned, Defence Force improved to four from two matches, the same as Queen's Park, which was also held to a draw, 1-1 by Fatima in an earlier contest on Saturday.
David Lee put Fatima ahead in the 28th minute for his team to lead 1-0 at the half, but six minutes into the second period, former Guyana international, Jerezano Bell got the wasteful Parkites on level terms for a share of the points.
And in the opening Women's Championship Division match of the season, Court Malvern edged Ventures 2-0 with Teresa Lezama (21st) and Mia Mitchell (59th), the players on target.
