Eleven participants were trained and qualified by Guyana's level four coach Carl Ince as the T&T Squash Association (TTSA) hosted a Level One Squash Coaching Clinic at the Cascadia Squash Courts, St Ann's, from April 9-11. The undertaking was made possible through the intervention of David Scott, a level two coach and student himself and long-time friend of Ince.
Ince attained all his level one and two certification in England then returned to Guyana. Ince then went back to England to complete his level three and subsequently his level four; Elite Status Coaching Certification.Ince was soon granted the historical permission to train and certify both level one and level two squash coaching certification outside of the United Kingdom with the auspices of England squash. Guyana reaped the first few years of this coaching and certification, with Ince fulfilling the National Junior squash coach position since 1998 to present day.
When contacted about his experience in T&T, Ince expressed great sentiment about the recent level one course. He said the hospitality and genuine welcome extended by David Scott and his family, Ryan Jagessar and Josh Pinard made it an extremely positive, comfortable and enjoyable trip. He added the level one candidates made the trip a most satisfying one. Ince is looking forward to returning to Trinidad to complete the level two course and spoke about the great potential and talent of the candidates.
